Dear esteemed members, Reformed Forum of Pharmacy Technicians in Nigeria.

I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out to express my gratitude for your unwavering dedication to the profession. Together, we’re making strides in the pharmacy sector. Recently, we’ve seen successful induction ceremonies across the country. This is a testament to hard work and commitment to excellence by the graduands.

However, challenges remain. The JAMB policy continues to be a concern for many pharmacy technicians seeking to advance their careers. The RFPTN has been a strong advocate for the reopening of the Direct Entry Admission pathway. We’ve taken every necessary step, including calling on stakeholders and policymakers to address the criticalities of the situation. I urge you to stay informed and engaged while being hopeful of the solution to this challenge before Thursday,11th April,2024 to enable our members process their Direct Entry Admission application this year. Your voice matters.

I equally urge all pharmacy technicians to legalize their membership with the RFPTN. This will boost our membership strength and advocacy capacity. Your active participation in our activities at the state and national levels is pertinent. Through unification, our leaders gain a deeper understanding of the challenges you face, enabling them to develop effective models of finding lasting solutions. Unity is our strength. By joining forces, we can achieve greater success in addressing the issues that matter most to you. The RFPTN is committed to supporting your professional development and advocating for your rights.

With the implementation of the three-tiered accreditation system of the Patent & Proprietor Medicines Vending Licensure (PPMVL), Pharmacy Technicians have exciting opportunities to pursue entrepreneurial ventures as they are placed at the apex. I encourage you to explore this path while seeking out white-collar jobs.

The RFPTN is aware of the meager salaries some of our members receive in private establishments. We are committed to advocating for a pay rise to ensure you are adequately compensation for your contributions and services delivery.

The RFPTN leadership is dedicated to restoring the hope of pharmacy technicians in Nigeria. We are actively working to facilitate your full participation in national health system policies and primary healthcare Development systems. We also understand the current limitations on pharmacy technicians participation in the National Hajj Scheme. However, I want to assure you that the RFPTN is taking good approaches to advocate for recognition with these relevant agencies. We are optimistic that this will be rectified in the nearest future.

Don’t forget to renew your annual permit with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria to avoid practicing without a valid license. A current license demonstrates your commitment to upholding professional standards and providing qualified care. Renew your permit today and continue to be a valuable asset to the pharmacy profession.

While thanking you for your continued support, I extend my warm greetings to our Christian colleagues for a joyous Easter celebration. May this holy season be filled with peace, hope, and renewal for you and your loved ones.
