RFPTN stands for REFORMED FORUM OF PHARMACY TECHNICIANS IN NIGERIA
Any Pharmacy Technician trained in any School/College of Health Technology in Nigeria that is accredited by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria. Such a Pharmacy Technician must have evidence of Registration/License issued by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria.
PCN is an acrony for Pharmacists Council of Nigeria, a Federal Government Agency charged with the responsibility of regulating the education, training and pracitice of pharmacy in all aspects and ramifications via decree 91 of 1992, now Act CAP P17 LFN, 2004.
A Pharmacy Technician is a tittle-protected, licensed health care provider who performs pharmacy functions, working collaboratively with registered and licensed pharmacists. A pharmacy Technician is equiped with the skills and techniques in pharmacy practice.
RFPTN is the only organisation recognised/recommended for Pharmacy Technicians by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria. The association has gained recognition by the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria and other pharmaceutical stakeholders in Nigeria. The association has also gained approval and is registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission on 6th May, 2019 with registration number CAC/IT/NO: 128682
