Dear esteemed members of the Reformed Forum of Pharmacy Technicians in Nigeria,

I hope this message finds you all in good health and high spirits. As the President of RFPTN, I wish to use this opportunity to address you on various activities and pressing issues that have taken place in the pharmaceutical sector during the month of February, 2024.

Firstly, I am pleased to inform you that we have witnessed several successful Pharmacy Technician induction ceremonies across the country. These ceremonies serve as a significant milestone in the professional journey of our members, as they mark the official recognition and entrance into the esteemed community of Pharmacy Technicians. I extend my congratulations to all those who participated in these ceremonies, and your dedication and commitment to the profession are commendable.

However, amidst our celebrations, we must also address a critical issue that has caused concern among our members. The decline of Direct Entry Admission of Pharmacy Technicians into Nigerian Universities in the recent is a matter that deserves our ultimate and immediate attention. This decline has been attributed to the implementation of the JAMB policy, which has posed significant challenges in our pursuit of higher education and career advancement.

Our organization, RFPTN, has taken up the mantle of advocacy in addressing this issue. We have engaged in extensive conversations with various stakeholders, including policymakers and regulatory bodies, to voice our concerns and seek a solution. In this regard, I wish to strongly urge the administrators/provosts of schools/colleges of Health Technology to contribute their quota in resolving the challenges posed by the JAMB policy. Together, we can make a significant impact in shaping the future of Pharmacy Technicians and ensuring their fair access to quality education and professional development opportunities.

Moving forward, it is imperative that we continue our advocacy efforts with renewed vigor and persistence. We must leverage all available channels, including research, data, and collaborative partnerships, to make our case stronger. Our collective voice has the power to bring about change, and by unifying our efforts, we can create a more favorable environment for Pharmacy Technicians in Nigeria.

Lastly, I encourage all members to remain resilient, proactive, and informed. Stay updated on the developments surrounding the JAMB policy and actively participate in the activities organized by RFPTN. Your support and engagement are essential in strengthening our cause and ensuring a brighter future for the profession.

Together, we will overcome the challenges we face and pave the way for a prosperous and respected community of Pharmacy Technicians in Nigeria.
